Postpartum Therapy Project

No mother should
fall through the gap.

We fund a full year of specialized postpartum therapy for mothers who need it most — because cost and access should never be the barrier.

After the baby arrives,
the support disappears.

The moment a baby is born, attention shifts. Visitors stop coming. Medical check-ins taper off. The focus — understandably — turns to the newborn.

And a mom who is quietly struggling with anxiety, depression, or the grief of a self that feels lost is often told to “reach out if she needs help.” Reaching out is harder than it sounds.

Even when she does reach out, the system makes it hard. Specialized postpartum therapy can cost $150–200 a session — and most insurance won't cover a perinatal specialist.

Waitlists stretch for months. The handful of therapists trained in perinatal mental health are often full.

So she waits. She gets worse. She tells herself she's fine.

That's the gap we exist to close.

Our Programs

We close the gap.
One mom at a time.

  • Pre-qualified, PMH-certified therapists only
  • Telehealth or in-person — your choice

Program 02

Peer Support Circle

Free, facilitated groups — open to any postpartum mom, no application needed

Free, small-group support facilitated by trained peer leaders and licensed clinicians. No income screening, no referral, no waiting. Any postpartum mother within the first year may join — and when she's ready for more, we're there to connect her to deeper care.

  • Open to any postpartum mother — zero eligibility barriers
  • Weekly or bi-weekly sessions, virtual or in-person
  • Groups of 6–8 with structured, trauma-informed facilitation
  • A pathway into the Therapy Access Fund when needed

I didn't know postpartum anxiety had a name. I just knew I was drowning. Getting connected with a therapist changed everything — for the first time since giving birth, I felt like someone was in my corner.
